I live in Portugal, and fell in love with Rio de Janeiro the very first time I was here. I came with some girlfriends, and we stayed for a month. Each one of us wanted a different tattoo, but I was the only one who actually ordered a sketch. The tattoo was made during that same trip. The Ipanema boardwalk is a Rio trademark, and it is made of Portuguese stones, so it is directly connected to my homeland.

The idea for our tattoo came to be in Lapa. I was moving to Australia and decided to take Rio de Janeiro with me. Andrea sketched the touristic sights. We all liked the result and got the tattoos that same day. We are best friends united by a beautiful image, created with love by one of us. It represents the strength of our friendship.
